More and more women are seeking the ‘Brazilian Butt Lift’. This procedure has been one of the fastest growing cosmetic procedures in the U.S., as many people are beginning to seek out a rounder, fuller, curvier buttock. Women are often interested in butt augmentation for a number of reasons. Some are unhappy with the natural size or shape of their buttocks. Others wish to rejuvenate a flat or sagging butt that may have lost volume over time. Whatever the reason, a Brazilian Butt Lift can address frustrations involving this area and give a woman more confidence in her appearance.
Unlike traditional butt augmentation, which uses an implant alone, the Brazilian Butt Lift is famous for using a woman’s own fat reserves to add volume and enhance the size of the buttocks. By using the body’s own fat instead of an implant alone, the result is a much more natural looking appearance. In addition, the fat cells within the buttocks can react to weight gain and weight loss, keeping the buttocks proportionate despite weight fluctuations.
What To Expect
The Brazilian Butt Lift can be performed with general anesthesia or IV sedation. First, donor fat is retrieved through liposuction from another area on the body, such as the abdomen, flanks or thighs. The fat is then processed and purified for injection.
Recovery
The recovery process is two-fold, since a Brazilian Butt Lift includes tiny incisions at the buttocks, as well as the area from which the donated fat was harvested. In most cases, patients are allowed to go home the same day as surgery with instructions for incision care. You may be advised to avoid sitting in the first few weeks of your recovery and to wear a compression garment to aid in healing.
Keep in mind that some bruising, swelling, and discomfort are normal following a Brazilian Butt Lift. Pain and soreness can be managed with medication prescribed by Dr. Bose, and the swelling will subside naturally over the first few weeks. As this occurs, the results of your surgery will become more noticeable and continue to improve. Since Brazilian Butt Lifts use the body’s own fat cells, it can take up to a year before the final results appear, as some of the fat cells injected into the body will be reabsorbed. Although every patient is unique, most can expect to retain about 75 percent of the original fat from the lift.
Are You A Candidate For A Brazilian Butt Lift?
The only way to determine if you could be a candidate for this procedure is by meeting with Dr. Bose for a consultation in person. He will be able to assess your health and eligibility for the procedure and make recommendations based on your needs and goals.
You might be a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift if you are interested in:
- A fuller or rounder posterior
- Greater projection within your buttocks
- Improved proportion between your buttocks and the rest of your body
- Creating symmetry between both sides of the buttocks
- Greater self-confidence in the appearance of your buttocks
Since the Brazilian Butt Lift utilizes the body’s own excess fat, a patient must have enough body fat to contribute to the procedure. If you are very thin or have low body fat accumulations, you may not be a candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift.
